General update

I'm sorry I've been so bad at updating this year! I can't quite believe we are half way through April already! I definitely think as you age you notice time, even weeks fly by so quick.

Life really is so short and this year especially has shown this with all these celebrity deaths, I can't believe it so many legends taken in such a short time and most to that awful disease. Heartbreaking it really is.

On a brighter note, we are all doing ok ...

Lexie is nearly 15 months now and is running around and has such a character! She has all of us wrapped around her little finger, she's so cheeky!! She says 'hi ya' to everyone, you'd be surprised at how many people ignore her, bless her cotton socks! Some ignorant so and so's out there! She has 11 teeth and loads of fly away curly hair, she's sleeping so much better than she was and eating everything, (including cat biscuits! Don't ask!) she has a cracking sense of humour and is definitely a daddy's girl!

Riley is still as funny and adorable as ever, he makes my heart melt every day with the things he says and does. School are sending their report to Pcamhs next week for his referral for assessment. They are referring for ADHD but I'm thinking more Dyspraxia or another sensory/ coordination condition. It's a long process and we are still even after 3 years at the very beginning of any diagnosis journey. Some days I admit I do find the whole thing pretty overwhelming but hey I'm not the only person to feel like that or be going through it all so I tend to just pull myself together and just carry on! School are no longer meeting his needs so i need to fight for him because no one else will. We will get there eventually, I just wish it wasn't so long winded!

Keira is getting ready to start her SATS next month, she working so hard bless her and moved up to higher levels in some subjects, I'm so proud of her. She got into our first choice secondary school so in September she will start the same school as Ellie. She seems so much littler and younger than Ellie was at this age, I do worry for her in such a big school!

Ellie is still doing her cheer leading and recently competed in her 2nd competition where they came 7th out of 14 which is amazing as they were the newbies and not expecting anywhere near that result! They have another comp in July so have begun training for that. She is doing well in Year 8 and has a lovely sensible bunch of friends which I'm glad about. This month has been pretty significant for her if you know what I mean, my baby is growing up and the hormones and moodiness are well and truly kicking in, such fun!

Hubby is starting to get busy again at work as the season starts to kick in
And I'm occupying myself with lots of gym time and classes, my favourite is body pump. I have definitely caught the gym bug!!! I've already noticed my fitness levels have risen, and I've managed to double my weights since I first started which I'm really happy about. Not noticed a change in my body shape or weight yet though apart from bigger muscles (they were pretty non existent though!). Slimming World is not going great, I lost 9lb and have put 2 back on but I just haven't got the motivation at the moment to follow plan and can't stop munching on biscuits!!

Until next time xx

  1. Life does seem to fly past so quickly. My kids get so much homework from school even though they are in juniors and infants it's hard to find the time to enjoy life. With your working out remember muscle weighs more than fat so it might not all be bad news!

  5. It's scary how quickly things move when you have a family and once they hit school it seems to shoot past at lightening speed!

  9. Seems like everyone is doing well - though it is a shame that we have to fight to get the support our kids need at school sometimes. I am with you on the biscuits - totally my downfall!
