Update on my fitness and weight loss

Ok so my New Years resolution was to lose weight so I started Slimming World and joined a gym!

I went to my first SW meeting on the 8th January and I have to say it was soooo much better than I was expecting! The consultant was lovely and all the other people at the group were really friendly and I learnt so much staying for Image Therapy after weigh in. My starting weight was 9 stone 4lb. I know to some people this is a great weight but I really do look like I weigh a lot more than this because I have such a small frame and fat in all the wrong places!!! I want to lose about a stone possibly a stone and a half.

My first week went well and I was so surprised with what and how much I could actually eat, I was amazed with my 4.5lb loss the following week. I went on to lose 1.5lb the next week then I maintained for 2 weeks and then lost 1.5lb and for my 1/2 a stone award


Last week I had my first gain of 1/2lb but I'm determined to not let it affect my motivation! I can't change last week but I can change next week!

I joined the gym in mid January and I have to say I have totally caught the gym bug! I love it!!! My induction actually killed me lol, I ached for days afterwards!!!! I go every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for 2 hours. I also do 2 classes, Body Pump on a Monday and Spinning on a Wednesday. I follow a program and so far I have noticed I can do more than when I started which is good and I also feel happier within myself. 

If you are like me and want to get fit and lose weight but are nervous about going to group or the gym please do it. I know it feels like everyone will be looking at you  but I promise that everyone was in your
position once and no one stares. There are people of all shapes and sizes on the gym. I can guarantee you will love it and not regret it :)

  1. Well done on your half a stone off! That's a massive achievement! Plus I love your sentiment with this quote: "I can't change last week but I can change next week!" I will remember that next time I have a bad week at Slimming World.

  4. I hate going to the gym, I always feel like everyone is staring at me... Anyway congrats for your half a stone reward! That is an amazing achievement!

  6. Well done you. I need to lose a bit but I love my food so I am determined to exercise. I am currently looking into the couch to 5k as I'd really love to run.
