Handmade Christmas cards

Last week I did a craft session with the local children's centre and Lexie went in a crèche they had put on. It was lovely to have a hot cup of tea and chat with other adults without any children interrupting!

We made Christmas cards and I honestly can say I loved every minute of the hour and a half it was on! I did 5 cards and they were quite easy to do really and pretty self explanatory.

Here are my masterpieces!!

For Father Christmas I used red card and ripped some white paper and stuck it on the card, I then used red fingerprints for the cheeks and draw the face on using a black pen.

This was my favourite design and using a snowman stencil I had cut out I sponge painted white paint into black card then used silver pen for the snow. I cut the nose out of orange card and used ribbon for the scarf.

This was such an easy but very effective design! Fingerprint reindeer!! I used pom-poms I think they are called for the noses and glued googly eyes on and drew the rest using pen.

I used buttons and Pom poms for this Xmas wreath. Buttons as so effective and can be used for sooooo many ideas!

Another button design! Christmas baubles, super simple!

We ran out of time but there were so many other ideas floating around the room such as fingerprint penguins and snowmen! Pintrest is great for ideas too.

Lexie loved going to the crèche so a good afternoon was had by all!

  5. I Love making homemade cards. People actually give me cards with bits on as they know I will take them off and use them on another card!
