Ellie has a pop story party for her birthday this year where she and 10 of her friends recorded a song of her choice in a proper recording studio!
We arrived at the huge unit type warehouse which is in the middle of an industrial estate in Milton Keynes and were greeted by a lovely friendly member of staff who showed us to the waiting area as there were other parties going on and we were a little early so we decided to do the cake first so we could get straight into the studio when it was out turn.
Typically there can be up to 2 parties on at one time with the idea that one party is recording in the studio whilst the other is in the games room. The place is plenty big enough so this was totally fine. The waiting room has drinks and vending machines with plenty of options and not bad prices either!
After we had finished the cake they took us through to the recording studio and the girls were split into 2 groups and Ellie got a chance to sing with both groups. Each groups did 3 practise runs of the song Ellie has chosen which was Flashlight by Jessie J and then did a final recording. They all started off fairly quiet but were belting it out by the final time! Afterwards the other girls went into the games area and Ellie did the song solo as she was the birthday girl. This was optional obviously but as Ellie loves singing she loved the idea.
The girls singing were in a separate room to those of us watching, it was exactly like you expect a proper recording studio to be like.
After Ellie's solo the girls chose their props for the photo shoot whilst the final song recording was edited and finalised. This was so much fun and even though it cost extra all the pictures were included on a CD and the props they could take home with them and a copy of the song CD each in a party bag (also extra cost)
The games room had an amazing superhero design with graffiti and drawings all over the walls, very cool!
Ellie loved it and all the girls raved about it all the way home!
We've now booked one for Keira's birthday in December.
