Another fairly busy weekend for us. In addition to the continued packing up of the living room for the building work we are having which I do when I get a spare 10 minutes here and there, we have been clothes shopping and brought some everyone clothes as all the children seem to have had a growth spurt recently! We came home £100 lighter which considering we all got something I thought was quite good really plus we had lunch out too so that was nice.
We came home to a lovely smelling house as I'd put dinner in the slow cooker in the morning which was lucky really as we got back later than expected as everywhere was just so busy. We had beef casserole and it was yummy! I love my slow cooker, you can cook pretty much anything in one and its so easy!!
Keira had a sleepover at her friends house for their birthday so she was excited all Saturday until I dropped her off and came home knackered the next day, but they had fun so that's good. They watched a dvd and had snacks I think and didn't go to sleep until gone 3am! Needless to say she napped on Sunday afternoon!
Sunday was hubbys big 40th birthday so me and Riley wrapped his presents and decorated the living room the night before. We couldn't plan anything because we didn't even know if he would be around on the day due to the weather and harvest not totally finished yet plus he would have hated a surprise party, his worst nightmare! As it turned out we had rain so he was at home on the day and so we all went out for a lovely meal minus Ellie who is in Ireland with her dad and back on Tuesday. Then we went and fed the heifers and bull.
He loved his presents that we got him which were a personalised gun slip and an Arsenal history football book that I've previously posted about. I got him some tops and socks too as he's always running out of socks (anyone else have disappearing socks?!!) and holes in his tops from work! Also ordered him some cupcakes from Baker Days as they were so yummy last time.
Can't wait for Ellie to get home on Tuesday and can't believe that its the last full week of the school holidays! In some ways its gone quite fast but in others very very slow and I think both the kids and me are ready for the new term to start now :)
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend :)
