Boat Trip

As I've mentioned in previous posts about our boat trip I thought I'd update how it went!

I saw the offer on Groupon a few weeks back. It was local to us and was for 2hrs boat hire for up to 10 people at the bargain price of £39. The normal price was £90.

I thought it would be great for a day out in the summer holidays with the kids so I asked my friend and her kids too. This meant 2 adults, 5 kids and 2 babies... on a boat! What was I thinking lol were my thoughts as the time neared!!

As it turned out hubby came too as it had rained the day before meaning he could drive which would take the huge pressure of me!

The boat hire place was based at a town about 40mins away so we left around 1pm so we had plenty of time to get there and sorted before the hire time of 2pm.

When we arrived we checked in and all the kids and babies were given life jackets and we were shown how to operate the boat!

We drove leisurely down the river and had a lovely chilled afternoon. We past some amazing sites, pubs, hotels on the river bank and also some pretty impressive boats. What a life it would be to actually live on a boat eh, well when the weather is nice anyway ;) Riley loved playing captain and we had a picnic onboard.

Hubby played a mean joke on us all pretending we had run out of petrol about an hour away from the boat hire place so we all went into panic mode! Naughty!! I will get him back for that!!

All in all we have a super afternoon, the kids loved it and Lexie even fell asleep in her life jacket!!

Happy days :) Amazing memories made

  1. My kids love a boat too. We had a holiday on the Norfolk Broads before they were born and have always said it would be nice to do it again with them.

  4. It looks like you all had an amazing time. I am not keen on boats as I am sea sick even in a canoe!

  6. I know my kids would love this too. We went on a cruise on the River Thames today, which was great fun, but I'm sure my son would love the chance to be behind the wheel (if only for a second!) even more.

  7. What a lovely family day out! I love how relaxed the baby is in her life jacket as well. I have pictures of my son in a life jacket at a similar age and he was completely freaking out about it! :D
